[NYSRPS Member] Legislative Alert--Turf fields

Attention NYSRPS Members--Legislation has been introduced and forwarded
to committee in both the state Assembly and Senate which would enact a
moratorium on the use and installation of "crumb rubber" turf fields
while the health effects of these fields is studied by the Health
Department.  The bills are A9503 and S06531, and are identical at this
time. (http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=S6531)  NYSRPS has no
official position at this time, but members are encouraged to evaluate
this potential legislation and its effects on your parks and programs,
and contact your elected officials to voice your positions in this
matter.
