[NYSRPS Member] Background Checks

CNYRPS is currently putting together a seminar on "The Importance of
Background Checks".  We have found that many municipalities are not
conducting them on their seasonal staff or volunteer coaches.  We are
looking for anyone who currently conducts background checks to come and
speak or at least supply us with some information.
  
1.	Who does the checks for you?
2.	What is the cost involved?  Do you incorporate that into the
cost of the program?
3.	What do you do when something comes up on the check?
4.	Do you have different policies for different offenses?
5.	Who makes the decision on what to do?
