The New York State Recreation and Parks Society is seeking input on
those items that should be included in the 2007 Legislative Platform.
The Legislative Platform consists of state and federal legislation that
the Society, on behalf of its membership, supports in the upcoming
legislative sessions, on both a state and federal level. The items
listed on the 2006 Legislative Platform (www.nysrps.org) will be
evaluated, and will most likely remain on the platform once
re-introduced in the new legislative session. Please take this
opportunity to suggest state and/or federal legislation that you feel
should be supported by the NYSRPS. Once completed, the Legislative
platform will be forwarded to the State Assembly and Senate, and
hand-delivered to our Federal representatives at the NRPA Legislative
Mid-Year meeting in February in Washington, D.C.
If you have any suggestions for the 2007 platform, please forward
your information to Richard Rose, Legislative Chairman at
rrose at orangetown.com by Friday, November 24. The platform will then be
compiled and presented to the NYSRPS for approval by the Executive Board
at its December meeting. Thank you for your interest in this important
part of our Society's mission!

Richard L. Rose, Jr.
Legislative Chairman
NYSRPS
