Painting From the Source Newsletter

April 2002

Dear painting Friends Worldwide,

Hope you are all creatively dealing with the escalating challenges of 2002.

The following are some updates in my Painting From The Source Life:

It feels so good and right to be teaching others to do what I do. The first
PFTS Training will successfully complete in July with 9 graduates.

The Second 1 year PFTS training will begin in January 2003. This one
will be an International group and take place in my newly renovated
home retreat in the wooded Berkshire foothill in New York State.

I'm looking forward to leading more workshops in my newly renovated home
retreat. It’s so beautiful, quiet and natural here. I have built a spacious
dorm room and new sink in my home studio and look forward to holding more
painting retreats here as well as training.
http://www.paintingfromthesource.org/training.html
(please see detailed description of my home retreat on my 2002 schedule
http://www.paintingfromthesource.org/schedule.html )

I'm planning to go " down under" in winter 2003. Yes, I'm invited to lead
workshops in Australia! I’ll keep you posted.

I love my new administrative assistants, Lynn and Betsey Eaton, a
married couple; Lynn is the guy.

After selling 13 thousand copies, Harper Collins has decided not to
reprint my book. At first I was sad and disappointed. Now as I search for
a new publisher, I have the spirit of adventure.

WANTED: Before most every workshop I am franticly looking for different
people who can assist me (set up studio, logistical stuff). Its
draining, constantly training new people. I am now looking for a few
people who love to paint from the source, who I will pay to assist me on
a regular basis. Requirements are someone who has attended a previous
workshop, lives in my geographic area and is compatible with me and my
style. You get plenty of time to paint and make $300. Contact me.

This July 17th I will be 62. I am grateful to feel good about my life so
far.

Love to you all, Aviva

PAINTING FROM THE SOURCE 1 YEAR TRAINING 2003 INFORMATION

"PFTS training has given me the skills and confidence to lead my own
painting workshops, and do it in my style. Leading painting workshops has
become my passion and mission. But the most satisfying result of the
training is having a network of fellow leaders who are personally and
professionally supportive beyond anything I imagined before I began the
training."
Mego Johnson, PFTS Training Student.

" Being exposed to Aviva's unique facilitation style and mission, I learned
for the first time the meaning of teaching from my heart not from my head."
Susan Brew, student completing the 1st PFTS Training.

"The PFTS training was a very deep and rewarding experience on the
spiritual, creative, intellectual and emotional levels; added much joy and
color to my life."
Jill Pries, PFTS Training Student.

"The PFTS Training helped me find my own home in my soul."
Montine Blank, PFTS Training Student.

"In addition to skill, technique, and the PFTS Process, I got so much more,
self discovery and empowerment”
George Herrick, Training Assist Teacher and Student.

Dear Prospective Painting From The Source Training Participants,
Feb 6,
2002

I am happy and proud to announce the details of the next (and 2ed) PFTS
Training Program. After reading your Questionnaire responses returned
combined with what I have learned from my current (and first) training, I
have designed the following parameters for the next training. I hope you
find it as adventurous and enticing as I do. Following are the basic
details.

1. LENGTH OF TRAINING is One year with 4, five-day sessions spread out with
3-month intervals FIRST SESSION BEGINNING, January 8-13, 2003. (other
sessions: April 9-14, August 6-11, December 6-8). Each 5-day session will
begin on a Wed eve and end on a Mon late afternoon to include a weekend.

2. THIS ONE YEAR WILL BE “AUDIT” STATUS. This means that the successful
completion of the 4 sessions will give you a certificate of completion but
not legally enable you to call yourself a PFTS Practitioners or use the PFTS
name or logo for your flyers and advertisements. At successful completion
of year you may of course add your 1-year study of PFTS with Aviva Gold to
your resume and Bio. For official PFTS Practitioner status, a second year of
study can be considered.

3. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AND RECEIVE: Emphasis will be on developing and
deepening your own painting and personal process with in depth study of
Aviva’s book and an emphasis on tailoring program to individual needs.
The part of the process where we embody and express our painting through
voice (music), theater, movement, poetry (using Gestalt Techniques), which
is unique to Aviva’s work, will be practiced and taught in depth with
probability of visiting teachers. Between sessions there will be reading
(from a variety of suggested books that support the process) and painting
assignments, and for those wanting it, support sessions on telephone or
e-mail (for international students) available at a minimal additional cost.

Those in mental health or healing arts fields and / or working with various
populations like children , prisoners, terminally ill, or yoga students will
gain the necessary process painting skills and experience to incorporate the
painting process into your work with any population. The basic skills and
information will also be available for those desiring and ready to offer
their own process painting workshops close or far from home.

The PFTS training will aid you in establishing your own ongoing painting
practice as well as enhance your personal growth including more clarity on
how to best use your gifts in the world. Many areas of your life besides
creative and occupational will develop, mature and evolve. You will have fun
and a tribe of people who will be a support system to you long after
training is over. Other skills you will learn (and thus be prepared to
teach) include:

*Trusting your intuition for problem solving and guidance.

*Learning how to access and use creative techniques and dreams for
relaxation, guidance, and wisdom.

*Learning group processing techniques to build a safe productive community.

*Overcoming shyness and in general ask for and get what you need in work and
personal life.

*Unblocking creative flow, enabling more spontaneity, fun, sensitivity and
access to experiencing and expressing emotions (connection with body).

*Creating art that emanates authenticity and soul beauty from which you will
gain a sense of accomplishment, self worth and empowerment that spills over
into all experiences of life.

* Riding out fear of the unknown and trusting the process through which core
beliefs such as “the universe is basically hostile” are replaced by “the
universe is basically supportive”.

*Learning techniques and new paradigms for reframing and accepting
previously perceived negative/detrimental situations and character traits,
thus enhancing self-image, health, intimacy and well-being.

*Learning effective teaching techniques to open free flow of creativity and
health for children, students and clients of all ages.

4.TRAINING LIMITED TO 12 PEOPLE

5. ALL SESSIONS WILL TAKE PLACE AT AVIVA's HOME STUDIO where there is a
spacious new dorm room. New York State location in secluded hard wood forest
